Last Day of May!

Happy Tuesday!
Can you believe it is the last day of May? It's also my kids last day of school. They are so excited for summer break and already the favorite question is, "What are we going to do this summer?" So,
I'm trying to come up with great ideas for keeping six kids happy all summer. Whoo hoo!
That sounded sarcastic, didn't it? *HA*
Well, I am looking forward to a fun summer with the kids (and hopefully...I survive!) *grin*

I made this card for my friend, Betsy, who has been hosting a fabulous craft sale for several years now.
Twice a year crafters can drop off their priced, unwanted craft items and she does all the work hosting a huge craft "garage sale" and at the end I just pick up the leftovers and my money. And then I can buy new stuff on my wish list! Yeah!! So, this is my thank you for all her hard work on our behalf.

I love this cute little baker from MFT. I thought she would be perfect for this card that included a removable recipe card. I stitched the top half of a brown paper lunch bag to my card to make the pocket. And the recipe card is from So Delish by TPC Studio, along with the coordinating DP.

I love the Notched Tag set, also from MFT. I attached it with linen thread. The tag is made from the
lunch bag and also the bottom layer of the jumbo scallop. I stitched all the layers and the jumbo scallop layer
was zigzag stitched on. Her apron was paper pieced and the rest colored with copic markers.

Here's the Recipe:

Black Forest Cheese Cake

24 vanilla wafers
2  8 ounce cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
2 Tbsp. flour
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. almond extract
1 can cherry pie filling or fresh fruit

Use foil cups (cupcake size) place 1 vanilla wafer in the bottom of each. Beat cream cheese until smooth,
add sugar, cocoa, and flour, mix well. Add eggs, beat again. Stir in sour cream and almond extract. Fill
cups 3/4 way full. Bake 20-25 minutes, until set.
Topping
1 c. sour cream
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
stir with spoon until sugar dissolves.
After cheesecake cools, add toping, then add fruit before serving.

Makes 24
Enjoy!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Saturday!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
This is my card for the MFT sketch challenge. My daughter Emma plays on a U9 soccer team. I thought this would be a great card for her coach. It's a miracle I got this posted this early with 2 foster babies and a total of 6 kids right now. I guess the "miracle" is that I stayed up and got less sleep. *grin*

This was a challenging sketch, but I was happy with how it turned out.

Bellarific Friday Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday!!
I'm so glad it has finally stopped raining. I thought we were going to have to hitch a ride with Noah on the ark!

This week Stamping Bella did a Sketch Challenge for Bellarific Friday. It was lots of fun! I used I-wish-i-looked-so-good-on-a-bike-ABELLA. Love her!

I stamped her on white cs and colored her with copics and cut her out. The DP is Hello Sunshine by American Craft. This is such cute paper, I love the big fluffy clouds and the colorful stripes.  And the "grass" is an old scrap of DP from SU. I stitched all the layers. To finish it off, I stamped "so thankful for you and all that you do" from Falling leaves (SU). I added a little silver gelly roll pen to the handles of the bike and crystal star gelly roll pen to all the flowers for a little sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by....

MFT Sketch Challenge #19

Hi! Happy Saturday! The MFT sketch this week is lots of fun. I have had a baby in my house for three months now...so that was my inspiration for this week's sketch..a baby card.

The DP is Jubilee by the Girl's Paperie, Hometown Summer-fruit stand by Pink Paislee, and The Thrift Store by October Afternoon.  I used the ever adorable a'la modes Oh Baby from MFT. She is colored with copic markers, the bears bow is paper pieced and then cut out and popped up on Road show Dilly Dally by fancy pants cut out with a nestie. I distressed the edges and added some vintage photo ink with a sponge.

I used the Fishtail banner from MFT. LOVE IT! You can do so many different variations with it.
The alphabet is also MFT, but from the Banner Strip Die. I sewed SU seam binding to the banner to string it together. I was really happy how this turned out. Fabulous!! And then sewed a tiny button to each end. I hope you like my card.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to leave a comment!

Bellarific Friday!

HI! Happy Friday! This is my card for Bellarific Friday!
I am so enjoying all the sunny and warm weather Ohio is having.
I thought we were going to be in the land of rain forever...

The theme this week is Kraft CS.

I used the supremely cute Prince Edward Island by Mo Manning. I stamped her on white cs and cut her out using a circle nestie and colored her with copic markers. I layered her on another circle and a lacey circle. The DP is vintage whimsy from the girl's paperie. Love this paper! The card base is kraft, then pink pirouette, then DP. I stitched through the top two layers. I added 3 rows of gingham ribbon: chocolate chip, certainly celery, and pretty in pink and added a button to each. To finish it off I stamped "Dear Friend" on vellum with chocolate chip ink and embossed it. Oh, and I added small pink pearls to each corner for a little bling.

This is the inside. Same DP just the back side. I used a small open scallop die-namic from MFT.
The sentiment is from SU, a Rose is a Rose.

I Woof You!

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I did! My MFT order came and my hubby watched the kids so I could have some craft time and play with my new stamp and die-namic.

She is so adorable! I love this stamp set, You Had Me At Woof. The card was made from a FREE template from MFT! I cut out the template pieces and zigzag stitched the inner card piece in place. Her coat is paper pieced with Build-a-bear workshop pawsitively prints II from SU and crystal bling for the buttons.  The rest was colored with copic markers. Diamond stickles was added for some sparkle on her hat and scarf. I layered them on very vanilla that was sponged with memento desert sand and cut out using nesties.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fish Tail banner die-namic!!! I used tissue paper for the top part and the base is peach parfait cs. I got the idea from Megan Lock...she did a tutorial on using vintage patterns...and I thought since patterns are basically tissue paper that it would work and WOW! I'm lovin' it!! I used linen thread to "hang" my banner with small buttons in between.
Thanks so much for stopping by. If you like it, leave a comment. It sure does make my day.

MFT Sketch Challenge

Hi. Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day!
I am so excited I got to do this sketch.

I used the super cute a la modes, Something's Fishy by MFT for this card.
I bought this stamp set when it was first released but have not had a chance to ink her up.
I stamped her on white cs with memento tuxedo black and colored her with copic markers. The fish is paper pieced. And I used memento desert sand with a sponge around the image.
I used my new Sprightly Sprockets spellbinder.
The DP is farm fresh and splish splash both by October Afternoon. I used a wide piece of twill tape and zigzag stitched through the center. And I used my newest die-namic from MFT: Open zigzag border. Love it!
I used a sentiment from the stamp set and paper pierced above it. I added light blue crystal stickers on the bottom left. The center panel is embossed with big circles.
I really enjoyed this stetch. It was a really good one!
Thanks for stopping by.

May is Here!

*Scoll down to see my MFT guest designer contest entry*

It seems like forever since I've posted anything. I seem to have no spare time...
And here is my reason why...

This is Charity. She's our newest little foster baby. We picked her up from the hospital at the end of February. She's 10 weeks old now. Isn't she sweet? But, she hasn't been letting me get much crafting done until now. *sniff*  So, this week has been the first week I have gotten to be in my craft room. And I was so excited to  participate in the MFT Guest Designer Contest.

Here's my entry for Blue Jeans and Bling:

This is a mini scrapbook made out of 2 brown paper lunch bags. You place one bag one direction and then flip the next one the other way and place one on top of the other. Then, fold them in half.
I used this Pure Innocence cutie from MFT, 4 leaf clover, for the cover. I paper pieced her clothes. Aren't her jeans cute? And I used a small heart punch to cover the clover and added some stickles for bling.
All the DP is Kitch by the Girl's Paperie. LOVE this paper! The denim ruffle is from a skirt that my daughter out grew. There are self-adhesive crystal bling on both sides of the circles cuz you can never have enough sparkle! "Happy Mother's Day" is printed on vellum and attached with silver HP brads from SU.

This is actually pages 4 & 5. I cut the rolled roses out of a faded piece of denim and put a crystal brad in the center. Love how they turned out! I used the banner strip and alphabet for the headers. And the second little PI is from the Happy Mail set. And I paper pieced a little denim dress for her.

These are my teens, Hannh and Jarod. I used the jumbo scallop die-namic on well worn denim and stitched it on using a zigzag stitch. Tied bows with linen thread for the buttons and added more crystal pink and green bling.

This is the final 2 pages. I used the Jumbo scallop die-namic and the PI Love You With All My Heart.
I hope you check out all the entries HERE.
And head over to MFT to see all the fabulous new things coming this week!
