You're Amazing! MFTWSC #168

Hi. It's been an insanely busy week. We had five house showings in five days. And with six people, two dogs and three cats it's hard keeping the house show quality.  I have been trying all week to get in the craft room. Finally, this morning I had a few crafty minutes...

I love this sketch!

I used my new Lily Die-namic from My Favorite Things! I love this die. I have seen some amazing cards made by the MFT design team. The Lilies were cut out of card stock and the stamen I cut out of smooth white cs and colored with copic markers and added a little glitter with my gel pen. I'm excited to use this die on some of my Easter cards this year. The sentiment was stamped with First Class Friend.

Monday...Monday!

Hi. I couldn't believe it's been 1 1/2 years since I have posted on my blog!! Where has the time gone?
I retired from nursing and am now a SAHM. We started homeschooling our kids. My parents relocated from Ohio to Texas, but, since their house sold in 5 hours my Dad moved in with me for 9 months until he was able to retire. My brother-in-law lived with us for almost a year. Thank goodness that it wasn't at the same time as my Dad. Our house is for sale and we are hoping to move somewhere warm.... maybe North Carolina....

So, now that you are up to date on my crazy life....
I made a card for my friend, Rebecca's birthday. I used the MFT cutie, AIM HIGH. Surprisingly, for as much as I have used this stamp, I have never used the kite before now. I love how cute she is flying her kite.

Stamps: Aim High (MFT)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Kraft CS, White CS, Baja Breeze CS (SU), DP is MME.
Accessories: File Tab and Cloud Trio Die-namics (MFT), Circle Nesties, Copic Markers, Baker's     Twine, White felt, Bitty Buttons (SU).

Blessed!

Happy Tuesday!

Hi. The temperature has really been dropping here in Ohio. I had been turning on the fireplace in the evening to chase away the chill. But, the last couple days have been so nippy we finally had to start up the furnace. At least the sun has been shining and all the trees look gorgeous. It's such a beautiful time of year. So, continuing on with the Fall theme: Here is my card for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge # 92.  I used two stamp sets on this card:  SunFlower Girl PI and Primitive Pumpkins.

Most of the DP is Harvest Lane by Simple Stories. I colored her with Copics and did some paper piecing for her dress and then I added her arms and flower on top.

For the pumpkins I stamped them with More Mustard(SU) and Really Rust(SU) Classic Ink on Very Vanilla CS (SU) and then added Kraft CS for the stem and Vintage Photo distress ink (Ranger) around the edges. And I little linen thread to top it off.

Here's the sketch:

If you need more My Favorite Things sketch details you can find them HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and God bless.

Wish Big!

Happy Monday!
I worked night shift and only slept for 3 hours today, so, I am a little sleep deprived. *yawn*
I made this card for the TCP Tuesday Challenge. This week it is a sketch.
I used the adorable A Girl and her Cake.
I love this little bunny, she is so cute and so much fun to color.
I colored her with Copic Markers and added Crystal lacquer and glitter to the frosting. Looks yummy! All the DP is Hootenanny by MME.

Snow Much Fun!

Happy Monday!
(Is that possible?)

This is my card for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer contest for October.
I used a new stamp that I haven't inked up before: Heart Warmer Boy (Pure Innocence Stamp).
He's just darling in his little snow suit and he has really sweet sentiments.

I used the Rounded Border Stax to make my shaker box. You can't see it in the photo but the back of the box has snowflake vellum from SU (very old from my stash). I put microbeads in to look like snow. My daughter says it looks like ice....
The sign is made with the Mini Pennant and Fishtail Banner Die-namics.
I was really happy with how cute this all turned out.

I colored him with Copic Markers and paper pieced his snow suit and hat.
You can check out all the fabulouslessness from My Favorite Things HERE

This is the sketch we were to use:

Happy Fall!

Happy Saturday!
It's a beautiful day here in Ohio. It's a little chilly outside but the sun is shining and the leaves are just starting to change colors. Don't you love this time of year? Apple Cider, Hay Rides, Pumpkins...
This is my favorite time of year.
I thought I would share my recipe for Hot Cider. It makes the whole house smell like fall.

Hot Spiced Cider
8 cups apple cider
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
6 inches cinnamon stick
1 tsp whole allspice
1 tsp whole cloves
8 thin orange slices (optional)

In a large saucepan combine apple cider and brown sugar.
For spice bag, place cinnamon, allspice and cloves in a double thickness of cheesecloth and tie with string. Add spice bag to cider mixture.
Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer at least 10 minutes.
Remove and discard spice bag.
Serve cider in mugs with orange slices, if desired.
Makes about 8 servings.
So, this week's card for My Favorite Thing's sketch is my first fall card this year.
I used ALM Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch
