My Favorite Things August Guest Designer

Happy Saturday!
This month Jody and Joanne challenged us to Embellish Ourselves.
You are to create something you can wear, create an accessory for yourself.
You can check out all the details HERE.

This was loads of fun!!
I made myself a tote bag
(of course my daughter, Hannah, is trying to get me to let her have it LOL!)

I bought a medium sized denim tote by Simplicity at my local fabric store and added three colors of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, red, orange and turquoise. I spaced the first three 1 inch apart, then left a 2 inch space, then, spaced the second three ribbons 1 inch apart.
Then, I stitched them in place with a small zigzag stitch (which you can't really see in my pictures but, looks really cute). I matched the thread to the ribbon color.

I cut out 2 of each color felt using the original Rolled Rose Die-namic.
I hot glued them in place.
Then you can fill it with all your favorite stamping things!
I hope you like my tote.

Thanks so much for stopping by.....

Weekends Are The Best!!

Happy Saturday!!
I hope everyone has been having a great week.
I've been spending time in my craft room which always makes for a fun week.
Have you been keeping up with the MFT teasers?
The DT has just been putting out the most fabulous creations!
If you want to check it out ...head over to Kim's Blog HERE .

This is my card for the MFT sketch challenge this week. I loved this one!!

I stamped the super cute, You Had Me At Woof, with memento tuxedo black ink and colored her with copics. I paper pieced her dress and used mini brads (su) for the buttons.
The little puppy is also from this stamp set and he was colored with copics, also.
I used kraft paper and the simply scallop medium die-namic for my triple scallop.

This is the inside. I used pieces of a sentiment from the stamp set.
The tag and heart are from the notched tag die-namic and stamp set.

Happy Thoughts Are Coming Your Way!

Happy Saturday!

Well, It has been another crazy week at our house. The air went out at our house during the hottest weather Ohio has seen in 15 years. And my Dad who would normally come over and fix it is vacationing in Texas at my brother's house. And I refuse to pay a heating and cooling guy $75 to do what costs 14 cents to fix. So, we are miserable! (especially at night)!!

And if that isn't enough...my dog took on a skunk two nights ago...at bedtime....and lost!
She got sprayed right in the mouth and then was foaming at the mouth and slinging it all over the patio!
This is the second time! You'd think she would learn to leave those smelly animals alone.
So, my hubby made a trip to Wal-mart at midnight to buy peroxide, baking soda and soft soap.
And I was scrubbing the dogs face while my teenage son was trying to locate the skunk with a flashlight.
Oh, what a night!

This is my card for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge. I made this card for my niece, Anna.
She lives in Texas and is turning 6.

I used my newest Pure Innocence, Aim High. Isn't she sweet? I love her!
Instead of the kite, I gave her a banner. Love how it turned out!

This is the inside. It's a little hard to see in this picture but, it has
sentiment: Happy Thoughts Are Coming Your Way stamped in Pink Pirouette ink from SU.

MFTWSC28

Happy Friday!

I haven't posted for a while. Our house has been crazy!!
During the garage sale week I came home and my computer had crashed.
It is currently at my I T friends house trying to recover.
I have to use my hubby's laptop...

The garage sale is finally finished and my house is all reorganized except for the basement.
I haven't had the time to tackle that HUGE job, yet.

I thought I'd take a break and make my card for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge.
I look forward to it every week. And the DT had great samples!
You can check them all out on Kim's Blog.

I used my newest stamp: WaterLily. I love her, she's so cute.

I stamped her with memento tuxedo black and colored her with copics. Her dress is paper pieced with scrap SU DP. The other DP is also from SU, Greenhouse Gala. I used Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, and White CS.
The clouds were cut using my cloud trio die-namic and white fleece and then stitched in place. The background paper for the clouds and Lily is Barefoot & Bliss by BoBunny. I used my simply scallop medium die-namic for the grassy hills and scrap SU paper. And stitched it in place.

The ribbon is chocolate chip 1/2" scalloped dots ribbon from SU. Love it!
The felt flowers and buttons are also from SU.
The File Tab die-namic was zigzag stitched in place. The sentiment is from WaterLily and was stamped using chocolate chip SU ink.
Love this sentiment!

This is the inside. I stamped the image, again in Baja Breeze ink. And added a felt flower with a brown brad.

Something's Fishy...

Happy Saturday!
I am trying again for the guest designer at My Favorite Things!
Just the thought of working with all those creative ladies is exciting, BUT then, they throw in over $100 in MFT products. I just can't resist...
So here are my cards. I made two:

I used the so cute, a la modes, Something's Fishy for both cards.
They asked us to use a Touch of Texture.

I just used the fish from "Something's Fishy" for this card.
The DP is BoBunny Barefoot & Bliss . I made a "fish bowl" using beads, window sheets, and foam tape.
I added scales to the fish with sequins and used stickles on the fins for a little sparkle.
All the circles are cut out with spellbinders.
And I stitched all the layers with the sewing machine.

The rope is decorative trim from Hobby Lobby. I used a tacky sheet and made the circle and then
cut around it on the tacky sheet. I added two buttons from my stock and used the
Fishtail Banner die-namic.
The sentiment is from the Notched Tag die-namic stamp set.
I used the Jumbo Scallop die-namic at the bottom for my water. The yellow is textured paper, and the orange I used a dottie embossing folder. The small circle with the button  on the top left is also from the Fishtail Banner die-namic.

This is my second card. I like the thought of her reaching into the fishbowl and pulling out
something other than a fish...so how about some LOVE.

The DP is BoBunny Barefoot & Bliss and also, Lime Twist by MME. I used cystal lacquer on her boots and the fishbowl. (Do you think it looks like a flower pot?) The heart is from the Notched Tag die-namic. The big scallop square nestie was cut out using crinkly brown paper from the Paper Studio. I paper pieced her top with scrap su paper and her pants are pieced with scraps of denim. The rest is colored with copics.
