MFT Wednesday Sketch #38

Happy Tuesday!
I started back to work this past weekend working part-time nights at a nursing home.
What an adjustment! I have worked nights in the past, but just filling in and such.
YIKES! I feel like a zombie after three days in a row and my sleep schedule is all in a mess.
Needless to say, I have not done much crafting. Here's my card for this week's MFT sketch.

Bareback

Happy Wednesday!
It's been a crazy week. I think my families shedule went on overdrive.
And I think my laundry was trying to take on Mt. Everest.
My Dad's birthday is Sunday and since his favorite things are horses, I dug out my Stampin Up horse stamps, Bareback. I haven't inked this up in a while.

I stamped the horses on Lost & Found Two Sunshine DP by MME with chocolate chip classic ink and then watercolored the sky and grass with baja breeze and old olive. I used vintage photo distress ink around the edges and distressed them a little. The swirls were stamped with distress ink using a SU Bronc Buster stamp. Which I stamped off first. I used a vintage brad from SU.

I used the Fishtail Banner die-namic and Stacking Stars die-namic for my tag. The happy sentiment is from the stamp set in the Strip Banner die-namic set and the birthday is from the Loads of Love Accessories stamp set by SU.  I paper pierced the tag and distressed it and added a brad to the star and  a little stickle glitter to one side. The twill tape also has been distressed. The chocolate chip panel was embossed with the provocraft embossing folder.

Stamps: Bareback (SU), Bronc Buster (SU), Loads of Love Accessories (SU), Strip Banner stamp set ( MFT)
Ink: chocolate chip, baja breeze, old olive, tim holtz vintage photo distress
Paper, Lost & Found Sunshine by MME, chocolate chip, pool party, and so saffron cs (su)
Accessories: twill tape, stacking stars die-namic (MFT), fishtail banner die-namic (MFT), mini library clip,
vintage brad, stickles, brn brad, paisley embossing folder by provocraft

The Sky is the Limit!

*Scroll down a little if you are looking for my ATS challenge card*

Hi. it's been such a rainy, cold day here in Ohio I stayed all snuggled up in my craft room.
I got my TCPTUES sketch challenge done. This was certainly a challenge. Leigh's working us hard this week. But, I was really happy with how it all came together. If you visit my blog often you know I don't make many masculine cards. I need to get more manly DP and stamps. *GRIN*
But I needed a birthday card for my Uncle Dan and this bunny, Take Off, worked really well. And shocker that I had some masculine papers in my stash (but I really had to dig~the plaid is a single side paper *gasp*).

This is the inside.

Now, on to other business...
I'm trying out some new challenges this week. I've been visiting Amy's blog,
a thousand sheets of paper, quite a bit lately and thought I would try out the ATS Wednesday Challenge. I used the adorable Swiss Miss, Rosalie with roses. It's an easy challenge this week: Anything Goes. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch for the layout.

I used clear star gel pen on her hair tie, buttons on her dress and on the roses.
It's hard to tell in the pic but it gives it some nice sparkle.
I had some trouble with the banner on the sketch because I didn't want it covering her legs and I didn't like it tucked behind her but was very happy when I remembered the fishtail banner from MFT.
I worked just great!!

Sunflowers!

Happy Labor Day!
I made another entry for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer Contest.
This month's theme is Rip & Roll.
I used the Pure Innocence stamp, Sunflower Girl.

The sunflowers were made with the notched tag die-namic and I used a 1/4" punch for the centers.
I just hand cut the stems from scrap paper. I ripped small pieces of scrap DP for the leaves.
The grass was made with the fresh cut grass die-namic and I rolled down the blades a little bit. I also added some crimped cardboard that I ripped for a little dirt and texture.
I used the mini ticket die-namic for the sentiment and rolled up the two ends and put a brad in the center to attach it. I was going to take a picture of that close up but, my camera batteries died. *ugh*

I paper pieced her dress and colored her with copics. The clouds were cut from white fleece using the cloud trio die-namic. And I ripped some DP for a more interesting sky. I stitched around all the layers.

You can check out all the details for the Guest Designer HERE.
And be sure to check out all the super cute new stuff coming out at My Favorite Things.

Happy Fall!

Happy Friday!
Well. it's my favorite time of the month, when MFT is having teasers and their very talented DT is coming up with gorgeous cards. I love seeing all the new stamps and die-namics that are coming out!!

This is my card for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
I used AIM HIGH, Pure Innocence stamp.
She's one of my favorite's. I keep reaching for her.

I gave her a "FALL" banner using the mini ticket die-namic. I scored it in the middle and then folded it over the ribbon and put a mini brad in the top. The letters are from the mini alphabet and banner strip die set.I used distress ink and stamped a little flower from Wonderful Watercolors (SU). Her dress is paper pieced and she is colored with copics.

This is the inside. The sentiment is from AIM HIGH.
The heart is from the notched tag die-namic.
